Clinical Supervision and Licensed Supervisors
Clinical supervision is a formal professional relationship in which a qualified, licensed supervisor provides guidance, support, and oversight to counselors in training or practice to ensure ethical, competent, and effective client care while supporting ongoing professional development. Licensed supervisors are experienced, credentialed mental health professionals who meet state and professional requirements to provide supervision and are responsible for monitoring clinical work, upholding ethical and legal standards, and fostering the supervisee’s clinical skills and professional identity.
