Borderline Personality Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is defined as a pervasive pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, along with marked impulsivity, beginning by early adulthood. Counselors look for a persistent "fear of abandonment" and a cycle of "idealization and devaluation" in relationships, often accompanied by chronic feelings of emptiness or intense, rapidly shifting moods.
