Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-directed, collaborative approach that shifts the focus from a client’s past problems to their current strengths and future possibilities. Rather than analyzing the "why" behind a struggle, SFBT counselors use specific techniques—like the Miracle Question and Scaling Questions—to help clients identify "exceptions" (times when the problem wasn't present) and build a concrete vision of a preferred future. It is based on the principle that the client is the expert on their own life and already possesses the internal resources necessary to construct lasting solutions in a relatively short timeframe.
